How to Share a Digital Business Card?

There are quite a lot of ways how to share digital business cards and the number of them is constantly increasing. I this article I will explain my favourite ways how you can share your digital business cards.

1. Send a Link

ULR links are widely accepted and well understood. Thus, if you want a convenient option that won't cause much confusion, it might be your best option.

Suitable for:

  • leaflets,

  • email signatures,

  • CVs/resumes.

To copy a link of your digital business card, go to your card page, click on the 'Copy' option as shown in the picture below. Alternatively, you can send the URL directly to others via Messages, LinkedIn app, email by using the options provided on the browser.

2. AirDrop

Incredibly useful option if your friends and colleagues use iPhones, iPads and Macs. Works in the same way as sharing a link as displayed above, just make sure that your AirDrop is enabled and set to 'Everyone' beforehand. Check out the picture below to see how it works.

3. QR code

You may know that in some countries QR codes are everywhere, and even if you don't use them daily, they can a handy option for quickly sharing your digital business card without having to type the link or message it to someone.

To scan a QR code:

1. Open your Camera app (you can access it even from a locked home screen by swiping left on the right side of your iPhone or iPad).

2. Simply point your device towards the QR code that might be on your digital business card on a different phone or printed material (see an example of how I have printed my cards below).

3. A link should pop up at the top of your screen that you can click on and you will be redirected to the card.

The QR code can be scanned natively on the Camera app without any 3rd party apps on iPhones running at least iOS 11 (that means up to iPhone 5s that was released back in 2013).

Use the native camera app by switching to Lens mode.

Use Bixby Vision app as a QR code scanner.

Other Android devices may also have Google Lens installed if they have Google assistant. Otherwise, you can always install one of many QR readers available on the Google Play Store.

4. Apple Wallet

With Smart Card subscription on VERYCARDS you will be emailed an additional Apple Wallet digital business card that you can access directly from your locked iPhone by double click of the home button (on iPhones with Touch ID) or side button (on iPhones with Face ID). This method minimises time needed to show a QR code for your clients, leads or newly met connections.

You can also share your Apple Wallet digital business card with others by going to the Wallet app and clicking on the small white button with 3 dots (or vice versa) to send it via Messages, email or even AirDrop.

I hope that you found this article interesting and helpful, let me know in the comments below if you have any questions or if you know any other methods how digital business cards can be shared.
